Sheridan is a small independent city of about 6,100 people (2020 census), covering roughly 2.3 square miles between southwest Denver, Englewood and Littleton. It was incorporated in 1890 and named for Civil War general Philip Sheridan.
Many people pass through Sheridan without realizing it is its own city, and that is part of its value story. Homes here often cost less than in the Denver neighborhoods right next door.

The South Platte River and its trail run through the east side of the city, and River Point at Sheridan, along Santa Fe Drive and Hampden, covers most shopping needs. The Oxford-City of Sheridan station on the light rail connects to downtown and the Tech Center. Fort Logan and its national cemetery border the city to the west.
