Southeast Denver

Polo Club

Private estates and creekside condos at the north end of Belcaro, across Cherry Creek from Cherry Creek North.

Location: Southeast Denver, roughly University Blvd to Steele St, from Cherry Creek and Alameda south to Exposition Ave  |  Vibe: Private, quiet, very established  |  Known for: Estate lots, the Polo Club condos, the Cherry Creek Trail

Polo Club is the name for a small area at the north end of Belcaro, roughly between University Boulevard and Steele Street, from Cherry Creek and Alameda Avenue south to Exposition. It is not a separate neighborhood on the city’s map, but the name carries a lot of weight in Denver real estate.

There are really two parts to it. The private Polo Club subdivision, sometimes called the Polo Grounds, is a handful of large estates on multi-acre lots, some of the biggest residential properties in central Denver. These homes almost never come up. When one was listed in recent years, it was reportedly the first sale in the subdivision in close to 75 years.

The Polo Club condos

The more accessible way to live here is the Polo Club Condominiums on Alameda, right along Cherry Creek. Units come in a range of sizes, and many have views over the creek and toward downtown. Owners get a doorstep connection to the Cherry Creek Trail and a short walk across the creek to Cherry Creek North.

Living here day to day

Cherry Creek North’s shops and restaurants and the Cherry Creek Shopping Center are a few minutes away on foot or by bike. Gates Tennis Center is nearby, Bonnie Brae’s ice cream shop is just south, and Washington Park is a short drive west.

Polo Club at a glance

Where it fits
Part of the official Belcaro neighborhood, at its north end along Cherry Creek.

Getting around
Walk or bike over the creek to Cherry Creek North. University Blvd and Speer get you downtown in about 15 minutes.

Public schools
Denver Public Schools. Assignments vary by address, so confirm with DPS for any home you are considering.

Rules to know
For condos, review HOA documents, reserves and any planned special assessments. Estate properties here rarely list publicly, so working with an agent who watches the area matters.

“Polo Club estates almost never sell. The condos by the creek are how most buyers get this location.”
