Mayfair is a residential pocket of east Denver, roughly from Holly Street east to Monaco Parkway, between Colfax and 6th Avenue. It is not one of the city’s official statistical neighborhoods. On the city’s map most of it falls in the west part of Montclair, and some people stretch the name a little west into Hale.
Most of the homes were built from the 1930s through the 1950s: brick Tudors, cottages, bungalows and postwar ranches on regular lots with mature trees. Monaco Parkway, one of Denver’s designated parkways, runs along the east side with a wide landscaped median.
Living here day to day
Mayfair Park gives the neighborhood a central green space, and the stretch of Colfax along the north edge has local restaurants and shops. Neighbors formed the Colfax-Mayfair Business Improvement District in 2014 to invest in that corridor. Rose Medical Center and the 9th and Colorado redevelopment are a few minutes west, and Lowry’s parks and town center are just to the southeast.
Groceries are close by on 14th Avenue near Krameria, and Cherry Creek North is about 10 minutes away.
